A standard lesson is £40 for 50 minutes. Your first intro lesson is £30, and there are discounted blocks — £195 for five lessons or £380 for ten. Full details on the Prices page.
Not to start. Lessons are at Under The Bridge Studios where there's a full kit set up — just bring yourself. When you want to practice at home, I'll help you choose something sensible: an electronic kit or even a practice pad goes a long way, and neither will upset your neighbors much.
No — and I mean that. A good chunk of my students are adults who waited years before finally booking a lesson. Adults often progress faster than they expect, because they know exactly what music they love. If you can tap along to a song on the steering wheel, you can learn the drums.
Not at all — complete beginners are my speciality. We start from literally zero: how to sit, how to hold the sticks, and your first beat. Most people are playing something recognisable by the end of the first lesson.
All ages from about ten upwards — my students range from teenagers to retirees. For children aged ten and under I offer 30-minute lessons at £30, which suits younger attention spans much better. I hold a current enhanced DBS check.
No. We can work entirely by ear and feel if you like. If you're curious about reading drum notation later, I'll teach it — but it's optional, not a gate.
Honestly: most beginners can hold down a basic rock beat within a lesson or two, and play along to a real song within the first month. From there it's about how much you play between lessons — even 15 minutes a few times a week makes a big difference.
Straight through the website — pick a time on the Book Online page and I'll confirm your request, usually the same day. Lessons run Tuesday to Thursday, 10am–8pm.
Under The Bridge Studios, 7 Trafalgar Arches, Brighton BN1 4FQ — tucked under the arches right by Brighton station. Easy by train or bus; paid parking nearby.
Life happens — if you need to move a lesson, just give me at least 24 hours' notice and we'll rearrange at no charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full (or count as a used lesson from a block), because that slot can't be offered to anyone else at short notice.
